Hi Everyone, Here is a quick update before I head off to the National Champs
In early February, I had the Auckland Track Championships which were held out at the Manukau track. This is always an event I train through as it is during my lead up for the National champs. In the U19 Women, I came away with two first places in the Sprints and the Scratch race and was runner up in the Keirin. To top off these results I also won the Women’s Overall Auckland Track Champion Cup which put a rather large smile on my dial.

Late last year I had a great session with a careers advisor and I can’t wait to jump into my BscBcom with Marketing degree next year. One of my sponsors, Pita Pit, kindly gave up a couple of hours to show me through their marketing plan and I found that really inspirational. This year at school I am taking economics, web design (which we get to make an app or a website!), statistics and modelling, physical education and physics. Last year I achieved level 2 with Merit. I also completed a Barista course in the holidays and have landed myself a Sunday job to earn some extra money. I’ve even served John Key the last two Sundays.
Last week was my last ever school athletics and I love getting involved in the school house spirit. My house came 2nd in my last year so a great way to start the year! I also won the senior 100m sprints which is a hotly contested event as always and placed 2nd in the senior javlin.

Early Monday morning I jump on the “big bird” down to Invercargill for the RaboDirect Age Group Track National championships held during next week (29th Feb – 3rd March). I couldn’t be more AMPED for nationals! I am now in the tapering phase and my form is coming along just as planned. I shall keep you updated on my progress down there. For anyone interested you can catch the live commentary starting from Wednesday 29th February at at http://www.cyclingsouth.org.nz/index.php?pageLoad=344 . Or the results after racing at http://www.cyclingsouth.org.nz/index.php?pageLoad=346.
I’m off to pack, catch you at the finish line!
Lots of love
