Last weekend was the Queens birthday Sprinters Camp down in Invercargill, with the Junior Worlds Sprint squad, the Elite Women’s Sprint squad and a few up and coming sprinters from around the country. And what a great way to start off my lengthy absence from home sweet home!

We all had a ball together, and had some awesome, hard racing, that New Zealanders usually lack over the winter period due to most the racing being in the northern hemisphere. Actually I managed to pull off a personal best in my flying 200m time which is pretty cool at this time of the year when I am far from peaking!

I stayed with NZ teammates, Kate Dunlevey and Victoria Steel and I can assure you that the Junior World's, Women Sprint Squad is not lacking in humor! The same goes for the squad coaches John Rastrick and Stu MacDonald, the track sessions were more like core sessions!

I am currently in Los Angeles with the Elite Women’s Sprint Squad, studying the Welsh language in the transit lounge before we head off to London Heathrow, for our first stop in Newport, Wales. I’ll be overseas for 2 months (Dw i heb dy weld ti ers talwn! (long time no see!)) So I’ll be sure to be updating you regularly during my expeditions.
Iechyd da! (Good health)
